When I began taking interest in skincare, I knew the very basics and I lacked a lot of knowledge. I still am not on a level of a professional in regards to skincare or beauty but I've realized the bad habits/mistakes I picked up and learned a lot of interesting and valuable concepts. I am still on the long road of learning more but I'm definitely not intimidated by it (but perhaps my wallet is).
As I familiarized myself more with the proper etiquette of skincare, one of the most valuable things I learned was the importance of pH in my cleansers. I stumbled upon two blogs -
Snow White and the Asian Pear and
Fiddy Snails. As I was reading through their reviews, details of the product's pH popped up frequently. I came to understand how important the pH of your cleanser matters.
Moral of the story: you want to pick a cleanser that is low in pH (less than pH of 5.6) and ditch any cleansers that are above that. Normally I find that the cleansers that make my skin feel really taut are the cleansers that are high in pH. But give that assumption a check-mark by testing it with a pH test strip. Basically, if you're using a cleanser that is high in pH (more alkaline/basic, >6), you're harming your skin's acid mantle. Bacteria thrives in environments that are more alkaline; now I understood why my acne was never disappearing for good. Your skin is naturally acidic and it should be kept that way if you want to maintain a healthy, bacteria-free acid mantle. Read more on
Snow White and the Asian Pear's blog. Bless you Cat for writing up that post. While you're at it, read everything on her blog; specifically under "Let's Get Nerdy". Or refer to my post
here where I've compiled all the important readings on safe skincare practices.
Let's get on with the review!

Back at it again with a COSRX Review. This time I will be introducing another holy grail skincare item in my collection. It is the AHA Whitehead Power Liquid from COSRX. Chemical exfoliants can do wonders for your skin especially at combating against problems such as acne (active and scars), pesky blackheads & whiteheads, refining skin texture, and promoting a healthier skin complexion. I purchased the AHA Whitehead Power Liquid through RoseRoseShop on their
Ebay store. They also have their
official website. I've ordered numerous products from RoseRoseShop in the past; therefore, I consider them to be trustworthy sellers.

If you were to ask me what brand has helped me the most with my skin concerns, undoubtedly I would tell you it's COSRX. They have such a wonderful
philosophy of creating products to solely help with skin concerns. I've always loved simplicity and COSRX definitely carries that out. They don't focus on tempting looking products but rather, they focus on the effects of the product itself. COSRX is also affordable. Moreover, most of their products are low in pH which is fantastic because you don't have to be worrying about stripping your skin's acid mantle; something that I've made the mistake in with the usage of high alkaline foaming cleansers. Yuck. Glad I've stopped living the basic life (no pun intended).
Today, I will be reviewing the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid which I consider to be one of my skincare essentials. I bought this at
RoseRoseShop on their
Ebay store. They also have their
official website. I mainly use Ebay to buy my skincare products because it's an easy shopping platform to use. I've purchased products from RoseRoseShop many times... probably 6-10 orders so far (yes... I should probably calm down on the spending). I do consider them to be honest, reliable, and legitimate sellers. Keep in mind, they mainly sell Korean skincare and beauty products. Shall we move onto the review?

I would say that the majority of people only cleanse 1-2 times per day (or not at all) and slap on some moisturizer if they're feeling that they're skin is suffering from a serious drought. Honestly, this was me up until my 11th year of high school. Heck. I didn't even wash my face even if I returned from a day's worth of sweat from hockey practice. I thought showering did the trick because all the dirt and sweat would wash off, right? I was definitely wrong about that. I didn't know the importance and benefits that came with a proper skincare routine and if only I knew sooner because it's become such a game changer in my life!
I mainly use Korean skincare products. I honestly don't remember how I was introduced to Korean skincare products from brands such as Laneige, Innisfree, Missha, Secret Key, CosRX, Nature Republic, etc. I just remember I visited the first Korean & Japanese beauty store in my city while I was shopping for my secret santa. I got my secret santa a really cute foam cleanser that was shaped as a pot with a little sprout at the top. The brand was TonyMoly and I just fell in love with how cute the packaging looked. I am a sucker for cute packaging... a bad habit because 99% of the time that leads to impulsive buying. I think from then on, I visited that store often and it opened up the doors to Korean skincare. To begin with, I had minimal knowledge about skincare so it took a lot of researching and reading for me to form a suitable skincare routine for my skin type.

Hello. Today I will be reviewing the Jeju Bija & Tea Tree Capsule Recipe Pack from Innisfree. I purchased this at my local Korean beauty store for $5 CAD + tax. It's pretty pricey for 10 ml compared to the price of $2.71 CAD on
Innisfree World but technically Innisfree World is pricier since shipping is crazy high.
You can get free shipping on orders over 100 USD which is a whack load in Canadian dollars. /sigh The Canadian economy is continuing to plummet.
I was actually supposed to post the review for the Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask but somehow when I was editing it, the original post got replaced with another post so I basically lost all of my writing. SO PISSED OFF. Therefore, to relieve this anger I will just post some other reviews and post the Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask some other time. Let's get on with this review then!

Today I will be reviewing the TONYMOLY's Pocket Bunny Spray Mist. They have two types - one suits dry skin (moist mist) and the other is for oily skin (sleek mist). I purchased the moist mist at my local Korean beauty store for $15 + tax. You can find this at Sephora, Urban Outfitters, Ebay, Amazon, or Kcollectionk.

Hello! It's been a very long time since I made a blog post but I will be spending whatever is left of my Christmas break to write reviews. I will start off with this blog post and I will be sharing my experience with the online apparel store called
Cloud 97.
Cloud 97 used to be a storenvy store called Yeoppuda. The owner wanted to close down Yeoppuda and move to their new tictail store, Cloud 97. I decided to order some items from Yeoppuda before they closed because I noticed that their items were priced a little less compared to their prices on Cloud 97. If you are debating on whether or not to purchase from Cloud 97,
PLEASE read this blog post first. I will put the rest under the read more because this blog post will be pretty long and there will be a lot of pictures!

Hello! Today I will be reviewing two items from the Faceshop: the Black Yeast Peeling Mask and the Aloe Nose Strips. I'm so glad that a Faceshop store opened in my city. Hopefully an Etude House store will open here soon! I purchased the peeling mask for $13 + tax and the nose strips for $6 + tax.

Hello! It's been a long time since I've done a review. Back in April I told myself to catch up on my reviews but I never got to them... I ended up procrastinating on everything. I will be reviewing the Wonder Pore Freshner by Etude House which I bought for $21 + tax. I buy all of my Korean beauty products at a store in chinatown. Online stores sell them at a cheaper price (
Kcollectionk, Ebay, Amazon, etc.) but I like having that quick access so I always buy my beauty products at this store.

I've been buying a lot of stuff online recently so I though I'd just make a post to reference to the shops I found. Hopefully this will be an easier way for you (and for me :-p) to browse online stores and pick one out that will suit your interests. Enjoy!
As of Oct. 1, 2016, I will no longer edit this post. Please be aware that some links are outdated.
